Accessing a Help Topic

To access TRIOS Help, click Experiment tab > Help .

To search for words or phrases that may be contained in a Help topic, click Search.
To browse through topics by category, click Contents.
To see a list of index entries, click Index. Type the word you're looking for or scroll through the list.

Search Tips

Use specific keywords rather than full sentences or questions.

Use Boolean operators to specify your search criteria. Boolean searches rely on specific modifiers that can help you produce more relevant search results. The following Boolean operators can be used in TRIOS Help:

Boolean Operators
Description	Variable	Example
Search for a phrase	" " (wrap text string in quotes)	"Control panel"
Include results that use both of the search terms you specify	AND (case insensitive) + (plus symbol) & (ampersand)	TRIOS and navigation TRIOS + navigation TRIOS & navigation
Include results that contain either of the words you specify	OR (case insensitive) \| (pipe symbol)	experiment or run experiment \| run
Exclude certain search terms	NOT	TRIOS not Guardian

The search engine ignores certain commonly used words. For example, a, an, the, of, to, be, you, your, when, however, for, that, can (and more). If your search results are not successful, trim out some of the less important words.

Check that you spelled your search term correctly.
